SWIMMING CARNIVAL
What a beautiful day for our annual TPS Swimming Carnival and the student participation and sportsmanship was outstanding. It is always a fabulous way to kick off a new school year with students dressed in their house colours and cheering on their fellow housemates in all kinds of events. A huge thank you to Mr Beasley and Mr Adamson who coordinate this huge event and a special thank you to our many parent/carer volunteers for helping out throughout the day.
P&C MEET & GREET
Next Monday 17 February, our P&C will hold their special Meet & Greet meeting in ANZAC Park (near the BBQ area) at 5:30pm. Free sausage sizzle and Zooper Dooper. All you need to bring is a chair and the family.
We'd love to see some new faces/families.
PERMISSION NOTES/PAYMENT - CUT OFF DATES
Our school is so big that it can often take our staff days (if not weeks) to organise and coordinate large events such as carnivals and excursions. This process is made very difficult when parents/carers do not provide permission and/or payment by the due date. School Bytes makes permission/payment very simple for our families so PLEASE make sure you complete these prior to due dates so your child is able to participate.
WATER REFILL/BUBBLER STATIONS
This week, two new filtered and chilled bubbler/bottle refill stations were installed at school. This was a joint initiative with the P&C and the school combining funds to provide these facilities for our students. The stations are located outside the canteen and replace the old bubblers, and we are looking at installing more (in the primary area of the school) in the future. Massive thank you to our P&C and their fundraising to provide such a wonderful resource for all our students.
FOYER/PLAYGROUND ARTWORK
Last year, our Year 6 Aboriginal students worked with local Kamilaroi artist, Kayleb Waters to design a special artwork for our school. The artwork features our school mascot (Magpie), the Peel River, local flora and the rolling hills that overlook Tamworth on the beautiful Kamilaroi lands. That artwork now proudly hangs in our school admin building and in the K-2 Quad on the end of the canteen building. Check it out next time you visit our school.
