Donation of funds for Decodable Readers

The Department of Education has developed a new K-2 Curriculum being implemented commencing 2023. A large focus of the new K-2 Literacy Curriculum will be on enhancing phonological awareness which is an essential foundational skills for early literacy. This includes a greater use of quality decodable readers. Decodable readers allow students to practice their reading skills and letter- sound relationships. Tamworth Public School is in the process of purchasing some of these readers ready for 2023. Many thanks to the P&C for their generous donation of $10000 to help go towards these purchases.
