Charity Day

Today Tamworth Public School held our annual Charity Day. What an amazing event this was, led by students with a variety of food stalls, activities and prizes on offer. As well as having fun, it also teaches an important message of collecting for charity with the charity of choice being Make-A-Wish foundation. Thank you to Mrs Delohery and the SRC for organising this event.

Boys Football

On Monday the TPS boys had a long trek to Murwillumbah East Public School to play the state PSSA Knock Out Quarter Finals. After an exciting half lead at half time, Murwillumbah East scored 2 quick goals to come away as the victors. I would like to express our sincere appreciation to parents/family members who have transported and supported the TPS Boys Football Team this season.  A huge thanks to Mr Adamson for all his efforts with the team this year.

SORA

SORA is an online reading platform that is aligned to the school’s Library Oliver system. There are thousands of books that students can “borrow” and read on devices like laptops, iPads and smartphones. Books are borrowed for a two week period, just like real library books. Students can access the SORA collection by going wo www.soraapp.com

Students may need to sign in using their department email address, which is the student’s username followed by  (eg harry.potter@educaiton.nsw.edu.au)Once in the site, at the bottom of the page, it will ask for a setup code.

Our set code is “nswprimaryau”. Once the setup code is entered, you can then find Tamworth Public School on the dropdown menu list. Click on our school and then you are at the Homepage, where you can browse and borrow.

The Shelf section shows students which books they have borrowed and when they’re due to be returned.

SORA is a great option if you are going away on holidays and don’t want to pack a lot of bulky books.

Church Visit

On Friday students who attend Combined and Catholic Scripture classes participated in local church visits as part of our Scripture and Religious Education (SRE) program. This is an important aspect of our SRE and much appreciated by our scripture teachers.

Thanks to Mrs Abberfield for all her organisation.

Canteen Survey

Have your say! Next term we will see an increase in menu items in the canteen but we would love your feedback on what items your child/ren love.

Can you please take 2 minutes to complete the following survey. It is only three questions and will help our P&C as they organise future menus. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q9HDST5

Thanks to Dominoes Pizza for RUOK Day

I would like to extend our gratitude to Dominoes Pizza West Tamworth, in particular Conner Turner, for their organisation and delivery of the pizza for RUOK Day. Dominoes also donated a number of pizzas on the day.

End of Term

I would like to take the opportunity  to thank the school community for a great Term 3. It certainly has been busy but also exciting and productive. Wishing students, staff and the community a restful break in readiness for Term 4.
