NAIDOC Assembly and Art Day will be held on Thursday 30th June, 2016.
The assembly will start at 10am and will be followed by morning tea for parents and guests in the school hall.
The assembly will be run by some of our excellent Indigenous students, as well as special guest Bob Faulkner, a long term servant of the Aboriginal community. We also have some students who will be involved in a special Aboriginal Languages Project with one of our parents, and local consultant, Aaron Ellis. In addition, another parent, Pat Strong, who has already been working with senior students, in his work with the Tamworth Opportunity Hub, will be supporting him.
We are thankful to all of them for contributing to our day and the classes they are able to visit after the assembly and morning tea will no doubt enjoy learning some Aboriginal language and culture.
The hall will be full of magnificent artwork and we trust as many of our whole school community as possible will be able to call in. This will be an excellent lead-in to our future work on Aboriginal Education implementation which we will be reviewing next term. We look forward to a great day.
